🚀ChatGPT Sparks AI-Written E-Book Boom on Amazon!

Imagine this: Brett Schickler, a regular salesman from Rochester, New York, stumbled upon a hidden treasure - the ChatGPT artificial intelligence program. Little did he know that this discovery would transform him into a published author!

With ChatGPT's help, Brett whipped up a 30-page illustrated children's e-book titled "The Wise Little Squirrel: A Tale of Saving and Investing." The star of the story is Sammy the Squirrel, who learns about the importance of saving money from his forest friends and becomes the richest squirrel in the forest by investing in an acorn trading business. Move over, Scrooge McDuck!

But that's not all. Brett's e-book is just one of over 200 e-books listed on Amazon's Kindle store that have ChatGPT listed as the author or co-author. There are even books on how to write using ChatGPT, like "How to Write and Create Content Using ChatGPT" and "The Power of Homework" (we're not kidding!).

However, not everyone is happy about the rise of AI authors. Some writers' groups are worried that these books will flood the market and put traditional authors out of work. And to make matters worse, ChatGPT learns how to write by scanning millions of pages of existing text, so there are concerns over authenticity and plagiarism.

Despite these concerns, many authors are keeping mum about their use of ChatGPT. This lack of transparency has led to worries about the quality of such books and their impact on the book industry as a whole. But hey, let's not forget the positives - the emergence of ChatGPT has sparked frenzied activity in tech circles, with investors pouring money into AI-focused startups and technology firms finding new purpose amid massive layoffs. Microsoft even received fawning coverage over its Bing search engine after integrating ChatGPT.

So, what's the future of the book industry? Will AI take over and turn book writing from a craft into a commodity? Only time will tell, but for now, we can all enjoy the bizarre and wondrous creations of ChatGPT authors. Who knows, maybe the next bestseller will be written by a robot!

London-based law firm Allen & Overy has entered into a partnership with OpenAI to use its AI tool, Harvey, across the company. Initially, a small trial began with only a few lawyers, but it grew to 3,500 workers across 43 offices who asked the system around 40,000 queries. One in four of the law firm's team of lawyers now uses the AI platform daily, with 80% using it at least once a month. Generative AI tools such as Harvey are considered a good fit for the legal industry, which relies heavily on standardized documents and precedents. However, the technology's tendency to confidently make things up – or "hallucinate" – has raised some concerns, and lawyers have warned that output from an AI platform will require careful review.
